PANOG ORGANIZED 2020 BIANNUAL CONGRESS HELD ELECTION AND NEW EXECUTIVE EMERGED

We at POULTRY ASSOCIATION OF NIGERIA OGUN STATE do hereby inform our farmers, Investors, Stakeholders, sister association, mother Association and our members that our association has changed baton of the policymakers who will see to decision making, administration and representation of Ogun Poultry farmers.

The new Executive 2020/22 was elected at the 11TH Biannual Congress & Election held in Abeokuta on Wednesday 2nd December 2020.

ENGINEER ASENUGA IDOWU was elected as the STATE CHAIRMAN with 17  other State Executive Council members. 

Engineer Asenuga  Idowu thus became the 7th Chairman since 2000 after succeeding the immediate past Chairperson – MRS ALAWODE BLESSING.

We hereby sought the support, cooperation and the loyalty of all our members, associates, allied organisation, governmental, non-governmental, agencies, investors, stakeholders as it was extended to the previous leaders and Executive

We count on the unflinching loyalty of all so that we can retain the enviable leadership for which PAN Ogun is well-known

POULTRY INDUSTRY A TRILLION NAIRA INVESTMENT IN NIGERIA FACES IMMINENT COLLAPSE AS PRICES OF MAIZE, SOYA BEANS, SOYA BEANS MEAL AND FINISHED FEED RISES UNABATEDLY

The Poultry Industry is the most capitalised in the Agric Sector with its worth estimated to be about a Trillion naira and employing over a million Nigerians directly and indirectly through its wide value chain from the field to fork. The Federal Government also in recent times in trying to solve the unemployment problems have committed a lot of resources in engaging the Nigerian Youths in Broiler Production using the Anchor Borrowers Programme. 

Poultry Association of Nigeria Ogun State holding a reasonable percentage of the total national poultry population wish to alert the Federal Government, The Nigerian Governors Forum, The South West Governors Forum, The Governor of Ogun State, the Central Bank of Nigeria, Nigerian Customs and all relevant agencies that this industry faces an imminent collapse if urgent interventions are not instituted.

Maize Prices Down, As Middlemen Mop Produce

The prices of maize are down by almost 50 per cent since the beginning of massive harvest last month.

Many stakeholders are forecasting more downward trend in the coming months when harvest reaches its peak.

Three months ago, prices of maize, caused by scarcity, reached record high of over N220,000 per metric tonnes in some parts of the country, prompting national outcry from other value chain users like poultry farmers and feed millers.

Poultry Industry In Nigeria Faces Imminent Collapse, To Lose N1 Trillion Annually – Chairman

The Poultry Association of Nigeria, (PAN), on Tuesday raised alarm of imminent collapse of Poultry Industry in Nigeria as a result of the ban placed on importation of maize .
Raising the alarm at a press conference held at the Oyo State NUJ, through the Oyo state PAN Chairman, Mr Agboola Gbemisoye said the Poultry industry now on the brink of a dangerous precipice may lose about N1trillion this year and annually and as well as witnessing one million job loss. Mr Gbemisoye emphasized that there is no doubt in the fact that the present dearth of maize in Nigeria presently threatening the survival of poultry industry in the country, adding that something has to be done by the government to help salvage the industry as well as prevent the imminent collapse of poultry industry.
